Forest guards believed to be helping poachers get to rhinos
Police in India have uncovered a nexus between a group of forest guards and poachers involved in hunting rhinos within Kaziranga National Park.
Seven men, including a retired forest guard have been arrested after three men were apprehended with a rhino horn travelling to neighbouring Nagaland. Based on these initial arrests 4 others were later arrested. The residence of another forest guard was raided by a team of police assisted by forest personnel however he managed to escape.
The apprehended men have been identified and await trial.
