Before the earthquake, Haiti already had 380,000 orphans. With an estimated 200,000 people killed in the earthquake, that number is expected to rise significantly. SOS already cares for 800 orphans in Haiti but demand for its services will rise significantly over the coming months and years. Haiti’s orphans desperately need food, water, medical supplies and shelter - all basic things, but fatally lacking now in the devastated capital, Port-au-Prince.
